Ode to Autumn

Knit this textured DK weight shawl out of two coordinating colors. 
The Ode to Autumn shawl was designed to celebrate my most loved season and was inspired by a poem by John Keats, one of the English Romantics in the 19th century. Towards the end of his young life, John Keats wrote “To Autumn”, an ode that describes the beauty, the labor, and the eventual culmination of the season. He likens Autumn to a being who ripens fruit, harvests in the fields, and makes melancholy, yet beautiful, music. This poem, with its imagery of nature and country life, spoke to me and has remained a favorite throughout the years.
